About

The Seattle Voice Academy (SVA) exists to meet the needs of individuals who want to improve the quality, health and effectiveness of their voice.  The voice is a combination of delicate folds attached to muscles that need training, care and support for your entire lifetime.  We teach voice instruction and can help:

  • Performers– at all levels and abilities
  • Teachers with vocal fatigue
  • Professionals who need accent reduction
  • Actors who need to learn dialects
  • Business people who need to improve public speaking
  • Voiceover actors

In addition, founder, Shana Pennington-Baird was diagnosed with vocal nodes when she was 24 years old while performing at the Village Theatre in Issaquah.  Through proper identification, scoping with an otolaryngologist, and speech training, she fully healed her voice, continued performing and is now dedicated to helping others.  We can help you stay healthy or find your way back to health.  We are part of a large community of professionals and we will refer to you the people you need to see.
