Refunds, Transfers, Credits, and Withdrawals
There are no refunds, credits, or withdrawals within 23 hours before your session. You can move your session due to illness or other event. If you have a package and cancel within 23 hours, we need to use your package for that session. This includes punch cards.
Sound Issues
Our studios are housed in a facility with film production studios and a car shop downstairs. While loud noises are rare, they can and do happen. We cannot offer you a refund if this occurs — although we will offer to schedule you at another time. Please note that we cannot at any time guarantee silence. Issues are rare, only a few times per year, but they can happen. SVA is not liable for any sound disruptions. If you are working with an engineer, we need to bill for their time in the space, regardless of sound issues.
No Shows
Our faculty travel to our studios to work with you. If you do not arrive, they are stuck without other work that day, since they were scheduled to work with you. If you have had a serious calamity which causes you to miss a session, please contact us at contact@seattlevoiceacademy.site and we’ll work with you to reschedule.
Returned Checks
A handling fee of $25 will be charged for processing returned checks. If your check is returned more than once or if more than one of your checks is returned, you must pay all fees in full by cash or credit card before you will be allowed to attend class or register again.
Withdrawal for Illness or Military Service
After full payment date (7 days prior to the first day of class), refunds or credits will be granted only in the case of (1) serious illness or (2) military service. To request a refund or credit, you must submit a letter WITH DOCUMENTATION (medical certificate in the case of illness or induction papers in the case of military service) by email to contact@seattlevoiceacademy.site. State the nature of the problem or your reason for withdrawal and the date of the last class attended. Documentation must be received within three weeks of your withdrawal; otherwise consideration for withdrawal will be retroactive only to the date that SVA receives your request letter.
Attendance & Behavior
Unless previous arrangements have been made with the SVA staff, all renters should arrive promptly and will be charged in 30-minute increments for the studios. Repeated absence or lateness disrupts other renter’s work. Students who are repeatedly absent and/or late may be asked at the discretion of the SVA staff to withdraw from studio use.
Any student displaying threatening, intimidating, violent behavior, or who brings a weapon onto or around the premises may be dismissed and asked to withdraw from using the studios without a refund. SVA does not tolerate sexual harassment in any form. Persons of either sex may be victims or perpetrators of harassment. Sexual harassment may occur between persons of the same sex. A report of sexual harassment may result in the student being asked to withdraw from the class without a refund. SVA reserves the right to refuse to register anyone who engages in disruptive or otherwise unacceptable behavior, including the use of alcohol or illegal drugs on or around the premises.
Nondiscriminatory Policy
SVA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, age, marital status, or physical or mental disability in its hiring, promotion, or student enrollment.
Liability
Renters/students freely and knowingly assume all risk incidental to participating in workshops/private coaching sessions in any of SVA’s studios. Renters/students understand and accept that SVA, its staff and faculty, are not responsible for injury to persons or property related to participation in SVA’s studios. As a renter or student, you here by agree to indemnify, release, and hold harmless Seattle Voice Academy, its directors, employees, or agents from any liability arising out of or related to any activity, accident, or incident in rehearsal and/or on the premises.
